Maintenance
The Handle District oversees a year-round maintenance program focused on keeping the area clean, safe, and welcoming. The maintenance team handles litter removal, graffiti abatement, event cleanup, trash can pickup, and related services within the one-block area. They also monitor dumpsters, install seasonal banners, and water the plant baskets to maintain a consistent, cared-for environment.
Safety Monitoring
Working closely with the Sacramento Police Department, the Handle helps address community challenges such as noise abatement, panhandling, traffic control, and trespassing. These efforts rely heavily on the dedicated support of the Midtown Association’s Clean and Safe team, this collaboration ensures the district remains vibrant, secure, and enjoyable for all who visit.
